Upendra Pratap Singh is a self-starter Software Engineer III at OnePlus with over 7 years of relevant experience in the field. With in-depth knowledge of the 5G Access domain, he is known for breaking the code and challenging System Engineers, Architects, and development teams. He has hands-on work experience of testing 5G gNodeB and has gone to the UK, USA, and Germany for different operators like EE (UK), T Mobile (USA), and DNA (Germany) to test 5G Stability and functionality at the initial stage, supporting in labs and as well as in the field to launch 5G successfully. Upendra has strong expertise in executing and documenting tests, including manual testing, software testing methods like Black box testing, Functional testing, Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Test Scenarios-Identification, Test Case Authoring, Test Management, Test Case Design & Execution, Defects Reporting & Tracking, Test Coverage, Re-testing, and Regression Testing. He has hands-on experience in using test tools, including but not limited to UE debuggers like QXDM, QCAT, and is strong in writing Functional test cases, Integration test cases, and System test cases. He has tested on 5G NR, VoLTE, LTE, GSM, WCDMA, Wifi, GPS, and performed Functional (Smoke, System, Regression, User Acceptance) and Non-functional (Compatibility, UI) Testings. In his current role at OnePlus, Upendra is responsible for understanding 3GPP specs and call flow to point out the bug and move to the respective development team to fix the bug. He analyzes functional issues mainly 5G and LTE cell selection and resection, OOS recovery, low power level, RACH failure, attach/detach procedure, TAU procedure, CSFB call, data stall-related issues. He has the ability to come up with a test strategy with limited lab resources and various tools and simulators, creating test scripts using available test tools, and building test setups as per the test strategy of the feature. Upendra has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Bharat Institute of Technology School of Engineering, Meerut, and a Wireless and Mobile Communication degree from the C-DAC Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, KP, Bangalore.
